Denture Repairs

Sometimes accidents happen and things break.  Never try to fix or alter your dentures yourself.  Dentures that are not repaired properly using crazy glue will not last with the force of chewing and will cause irritation your mouth.  Using crazy glue also makes it harder for the denturist to repair because the glue dissolves the borders of the fracture not letting the pieces go back together properly.

Repairs are required when breakage or damage to the denture occurs, when one or more teeth need to be added to an existing denture because of the loss of a tooth, or because of wear and tear on the denture.  Denture teeth and clasps can be added to existing partial dentures when natural teeth are lost.

A denture that frequently cracks and needs repairs is a good sign that a new denture, or maybe a reline is needed.  As a denture ages the acrylic (pink) base becomes more fragile and the teeth become worn down which puts stress on the denture and can crack it.  The breakage can also be a sign of a poor fitting denture that would need to be relined to fit properly or a new denture made.

If you have a broken denture, contact me right away so that I can repair it properly for you.  Most insurance covers repairs, as well as Veterans Affairs, ODSP, OW and NIHB.
